WHAT YOU GIVE, THEY GET!

The fragile calm in Gaza has shattered. A sudden escalation in conflict has destroyed any hope of rebuilding. Our brothers and sisters in Gaza remain displaced โ€“ their homes in rubble. Living in fear, families are without food, water, medicine or shelter. Hopes for peace have been brokenโ€”yet the need for action has never been greater. MATW Project is still delivering life-saving relief. Despite the incursion, our teams are working tirelessly to support our brothers and sisters in Gaza. Weโ€™re on the ground delivering emergency shelter, food, water, medical supplies and more. Your donation in these last ten nights of Ramadan is critical. $250 can help deliver essentials to medical caregivers to help treat injured patients in Gaza. Time is running out. Lives depend on this. Donโ€™t wait โ€” give like itโ€™s your last Ramadan.

Dua for when in pain

Prayer for Times of Pain: An Empowering Tradition from the Sunnah

Dua, or supplication, is a fundamental aspect of the Islamic faith. It is the act of calling upon Allah for guidance, help, or forgiveness, and it plays a significant role in the life of a Muslim. In times of pain and distress, turning to dua can provide solace and healing. The practice of making dua when experiencing pain is deeply rooted in the Sunnah, and it offers a powerful means of seeking relief and comfort.

Dua holds a profound significance in Islam. It is a form of worship and a direct way to communicate with Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Dua is worship” (Tirmidhi), highlighting its elevated status in the eyes of Allah. In times of difficulty, the act of making dua not only allows individuals to seek help from the Creator, but it also serves as a reminder of their reliance on Allah.

The significance of dua lies in its ability to provide comfort and relief to those in distress. When faced with pain, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, turning to Allah through dua can alleviate the suffering and bring about a sense of peace and tranquility. It is through dua that one can express their vulnerabilities and seek guidance and healing from the Merciful.

Dua for when in Pain

In Islam, the act of seeking relief from pain through dua is a practice that is encouraged and exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). When experiencing any form of discomfort, be it physical or emotional, the Messenger of Allah taught his followers to turn to Allah through supplication.

One of the most powerful and beloved duas for seeking relief from pain is the following:

Transliteration:
Bismillaah, Bismillaah, Bismillaah ‘A’oothu billaahi wa qudratihi min sharri maa ‘ajidu wa ‘uhaathiru
Translation:
โ€œIn the Name of Allah I seek refuge in Allah and in His Power from the evil of what I find and of what I guard against.โ€

This dua encompasses a deep sense of humility and submission to Allah, acknowledging His supremacy and seeking solace through the divine words of the Qur’an.

Giving Charity with Sincere Intention

In addition to making dua, the act of giving charity with a sincere intention can also serve as a means of seeking relief from pain. According to the teachings of Islam, giving in charity not only benefits those in need, but it also holds immense spiritual rewards for the giver. The Quran mentions the virtues of giving in charity, stating, “The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain that sprouts seven ears and in every ear there are a hundred grains. Thus, Allah multiplies the action of whomsoever He wills” (2:261).
By giving in charity with a sincere intention, one can show gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon them and seek the help of Allah in alleviating their pain. The act of charity can also serve as a means of purification of the heart and a source of barakah (blessings) in one’s life.

The dua for seeking relief from pain is a powerful example of the supplications taught by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and it offers a means of solace and comfort for those in distress. Additionally, giving charity with a sincere intention can be a means of seeking relief from pain and gaining spiritual rewards.
In times of hardship, turning to dua and giving in charity provides an opportunity for spiritual growth and strengthens the relationship with Allah.

May Allah grant us the strength to seek relief through dua and the willingness to give in charity with a sincere heart. Ameen.
