Dua For Market

A Dua to Recite when entering a Market

In Islam, the act of making dua (supplication) is of great significance. It is a means of communicating with Allah, seeking His help, guidance, and blessings in all aspects of our lives. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Dua is worship” (Tirmidhi). This emphasizes the importance of dua in Islam and the significance of making it a part of our daily routine. One particular dua that is recommended to be recited when entering the market is of great importance in the life of a Muslim.

The market is a place where people engage in buying and selling, interacting with others, and conducting business transactions. It can be a place of temptation and distraction from the remembrance of Allah. Hence, it is essential for a Muslim to seek Allah’s protection and guidance when entering such a place. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us the appropriate dua to recite when entering the market. This dua is a means of seeking Allah’s blessings and protection from any negative influences that may be present in the market.

The dua for entering the market is as follows:

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ

يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخُيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٍ
Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, yuhyee wa yumeetu, wa Huwa hayyun laa yamootu, biyadihil-khayru, wa Huwa alaa kulli shayin Qadeer.
“There is no Lord except Allah. He is One and has no partners. His is the Kingdom and for Him are all praises. He gives life and gives death. He is eternal and everlasting In His control is goodness, and He has power over everything.”

This dua highlights the importance of seeking Allah’s assistance before engaging in any economic activity. It is a way of acknowledging that success in business comes from Allah’s favor and that one should seek His blessings and protection before entering the market.

It is essential for a Muslim to remember the significance of this dua and recite it with sincere intention and humility. By doing so, one can seek Allah’s guidance and blessings, and at the same time protect himself from any unethical practices that may be prevalent in the market.

In addition to reciting the dua, it is also recommended for a Muslim to give charity with a sincere intention before entering the market. The act of giving charity not only purifies one’s wealth but also serves as a means of seeking Allah’s help and blessings in one’s economic endeavors.
