As the coronavirus continues to spread across the world, Yemen is more vulnerable now than ever before but violence and a global pandemic is not the only threat.
Diseases including cholera and famine continue to sweep through the country affecting the lives of millions. More than 60 percent of the population remains entirely dependent on humanitarian aid leaving them in desperate need with little hope.
With an experienced team of locals on the ground, our donors are helping us deliver life-saving aid to Yemenis including those who are internally displaced.
Our first response saw the delivery of thousands of food packs to cover the most urgent needs of families.
Due to the difficulty in sourcing clean water, we are providing water tankers that contain hundreds of thousands of litres of water to help prevent the spread of waterborne diseases that continue to claim thousands of lives.
Under the humanitarian coordination system in Yemen, we’re also working to protect mothers, newborns and children by providing provisions that safeguard new mothers such as maternity hygiene kits and the necessary equipment to ensure their safe delivery.
We’re also combating malnutrition with provisions that specifically aim to help children.
So you see, your support means more than a donation. It gives us the chance to save countless lives, which Allah (God) says is as if we’ve saved all of humanity.
“And whoever saves a life it is as though he had saved the lives of all mankind” (5:32)
