Your Chance for a
lasting legacy starts here.

War, disasters, illnesses, a global pandemic, unprecedented loss – these last few years have been a real journey. Most might face these trials feeling as though they’re a sentence. Not Ali.
When our founder Ali Banat was diagnosed with cancer and was told he didn’t have long on this earth, he didn’t see it as a sentence, he saw it as a chance. An opportunity.

That is how we’re approaching each day as we get closer to Ramadan and beyond.
Every single day is a chance for us to do good. To be better in ourselves through acts of mercy, kindness, generosity, sincerity and most importantly, faith.

Despite the pandemic and the trials we’ve faced over the last few years, Muslims Around The World Project has gone from working in one country to delivering aid in 21 countries.
We started humbly by building one masjid and have now built hundreds. One water well has become thousands of water wells.
One food pack has become hundreds of thousands of food packs.

Alhamdulillah, this all started with Ali Banat.
This Ramadan, let the good continue with you with not just a donation but a lasting legacy.
So use this chance, your chance, and give more than ever this Ramadan.

We want your help and generosity to fulfil the needs of millions of orphans, widows and families who are struggling across West Africa, East Africa, Lebanon and Bangladesh.  With your generosity, help us distribute a million meals this Ramadan. Use your privilege. Imitate the Prophet’s (PBUH) generosity. Get gifting.

As Ibn ‘Abbas narrated: “The Prophet (peace be upon him) was the most generous person, and he used to become more so (generous) particularly in the month of Ramadan…more generous than the fast wind in doing good.” [Bukhari]

Where does MATW distribute food packs and Zakat al Fitr?

This year we will be handing out food packs and zakat al fitr in West Africa, East Africa, Bangladesh and Lebanon!

How can I donate my Zakat Al Maal?

You can donate your zakat al maal by visiting our Zakat page here.

Is Ramadan a good time to give charity?

Ramadan is the best time to increase one’s sadaqah, pay one’s zakat if it is due or start giving regular charity as your rewards for good deeds are multiplied!

What if I am unable to fast?

Fidyah a charity given by those who can’t fast due to old age, illness or any other impairment.  Fidyah consists of paying for 2 meals for a person per day of fasting missed.   Kaffara is made for fasts missed unnecessarily – for example, if someone misses or breaks a fast in the month of Ramadan without a valid reason.

Is my Ramadan donation tax deductible?

Yes!  All developmental donations with MATW are fully tax deductible.

How do my food packs get delivered in time?

MATW works all year with field agents and ambassadors to prepare your food packs in advance.  We liaise with food suppliers, making sure the food in the pack meets nutritional needs and local cultural expectations. We deliver throughout Ramadan checking in with our partners every day. You can give your donation to the food packs at any time during Ramadan. This means that even if you donate in the last 10 days, we ensure that a family has received their food pack on time.

Who should pay Zakat Al Fitr?

Zakat al-Fitr should be paid on behalf of everyone in the family.

Where does my Zakat go?

MATW takes your Zakat very seriously and distributes it to the most needy.  Zakat is used in accordance with religious requirements. It can be used in emergency and disaster relief, development projects, disability programs, poverty alleviation and food security.
