What is  Qurban?

Qurban or Udhiyah means sacrifice. Every year during the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the world offer a sacrifice of an animal – either a goat, sheep, cow or camel – as an act of worship and a reflection of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS)’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, for the sake of Allah.

It’s more than an  obligation  and  Sunnah.

Muslims Around The World teams work hard to deliver your Qurban donations within the most impoverished communities, in the most remote areas and conflict zones, including Syria, Palestine, Yemen and Myanmar.
For many of these vulnerable families, Eid is the only time they get to enjoy a meal with meat which is why we work to ensure that the poorest families are prioritized to receive the best quality meat.

You + MATW  = Happy families on  Eid Al Adha Insha’Allah

Giving Qurban is obligatory for every Muslim who has the financial capability to do so.
All of the livestock has been pre-allocated and checked to ensure it meets our standards in accordance with Islamic guidelines, principles and practice. They must be healthy and hygienically and ethically treated. Then they are processed during the 10th-13th days of Dhul Hijjah ) starting from the first day of Eid.

All of Muslim Around The World’s  Qurban orders received from donors are processed and done fresh on Eid.

The meat is also distributed fresh. Each Qurban pack has 3-5kg of meat and feeds a family of 5-8 people.

How does it all work?

  1. Start by selecting where you’d like to send your Qurban and the quantity you’d like to donate.
  2. Livestock is purchased and checked ahead of time. Our team will ensure that all animals meet the checking requirements, ready for Eid! All animals are sourced locally to help support and boost the local economy.
  3. Your Qurban is then processed between 10th-13th of Dhul Hijjah
  4. Qurban meat is the distributed to the poorest families!

Reap the rewards of the 10 best days of the year – the blessed first days of Dhul Hijjah!

Give your Qurban today.

Qurban FAQ’s:

Is MATW distributing fresh or frozen Qurban?

Our team aims to deliver only the best quality Qurban that’s processed from the 10th of Dhul Hijjah – meaning it’s done fresh on Eid and delivered fresh immediately after.

What part of the animal is sacrificed?

MATW utilises all parts of the animal to ensure there is no wastage and that the recipients receive as much nourishing meat as possible.

When is MATW Qurban distributed?

All MATW Qurban is sacrificed and distributed on the day of Eid from the 10th-13th days of Dhul Hijjah. Any donations that are made on or after Eid are sacrificed on subsequent days.

When can donors cut their hair and nails as per the sunnah?

We will be sending a notification in the form of an email or SMS to all of our Qurban donors as soon as we begin the Qurban process which will begin on the first day of Eid (10th of Dhul Hijjah).

What does a cow share mean?

This depends on the school of thought you follow. Please consult your local Imam/Sheikh for further information. According to the Hanafi school of thought it is obligatory for:

  • Every sane Muslim of mature age (who has reached puberty)
  • Non-travelling persons
  • Those who additionally own wealth, which is beyond their needs, equal to (or more than) the current level of nisab (87.48 grams of gold or 612.35 grams of silver)

Who are the recipients of Qurban?

Our beneficiaries include the most vulnerable people living in the poorest communities around the world. These people include orphaned children, widows, the sick and elderly, the disabled, impoverished families, families with children, pregnant and nursing mothers, refugees and anyone else in need.

When is Dhul Hijjah?

The first of Dhul Hijjah begins on the 30th June.
