Surah Zilzal Transliteration

Surah Zilzal is the 99th chapter of the Holy Quran It is a short surah consisting of eight verses and it addresses the events of the Day of Judgment The name Zilzal translates to Earthquake in English highlighting the powerful imagery of the upheaval that will occur at the end of time The surah delivers a profound message about the accountability of human actions on that momentous day

The opening verses of Surah Zilzal describe a great quake that will shake the very foundations of the earth This earthquake is not just any tremor but is emblematic of the overwhelming events that will transpire when the Day of Judgment arrives The surah evokes a sense of urgency and significance by allowing listeners to grasp the magnitude of that day

The first verse states When the earth is shaken with its shaking This line is particularly striking as it emphasizes that the earth will be moved from its place indicating a transformation of the entire universe The second verse continues by saying And the earth will disclose its burdens This poetic language suggests that on that day each person will be confronted with the realities of their deeds and will be held accountable for their actions

One of the critical aspects of Surah Zilzal is its focus on individual responsibility The surah reminds us that every action regardless of how small will be weighed and considered In verse three it states And man will say What has befallen it This highlights the bewilderment that will accompany such a cosmic event as humanity grapples with the reality of their existence and the consequences of their choices

Following this acknowledgment of the upheaval the surah presents the consequences of these actions In the subsequent verses the emphasis shifts towards the weighing of deeds In verse six it declares That Day the people will be displayed before [their Lord] in the efforts of the world This verse reinforces the notion that every individual will stand before God to account for their actions marking a turning point in human consciousness

The surah concludes with a clear declaration of judgment in verse seven and eight The final verses state So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it This reinforces the importance of accountability and the idea that no deed no matter how insignificant will escape scrutiny On this day every soul will reap the fruits of its labor whether good or bad

Surah Zilzal serves as an important reminder of the transitory nature of this world and the permanence of the hereafter The images described throughout the surah compel the reader or listener to reflect deeply on their life and choices It is a call to action to seek righteousness and to hold oneself accountable for one’s deeds
